WHO WE ARE

We’re an inclusive, progressive congregation of about 400 people located in Bedford Village, in northern Westchester County, New York.

IF YOU COME ON A SUNDAY MORNING

You’ll be welcomed at the door by an usher who will hand you a program. There are no assigned seats. Children attend the first part of the service with parents, and then, after a children’s message, go to their own program, called Sunday Spirit. (If kids are feeling shy, parents can go with them or kids can stay in the service). Most Sundays, music is provided by our BPC Choir and magnificent organ. There will be hymns, prayers and a message by one of the two ministers. Sometimes there will be a jazz or rock band or gospel choir or instrumentalist, and sometimes our children’s choirs sing. Communion (Lord’s Supper) is celebrated once a month. The service lasts a little over an hour. After the service, there is “Coffee Hour” to which all are invited, and sometimes there’s a soup lunch. Always, there is a warm welcome for newcomers.

IS THERE A TRIP WIRE?

We certainly hope not. There’s no secret handshake, no dress code, no requirements. You don’t have to be Presbyterian to attend — there are people of all backgrounds here. Come as you are, exactly as you are. Bring your questions, your doubts, your yearning and feel the presence of a loving God.

BEYOND SUNDAY MORNING. . .

We offer many other ways to “be the church,” whether it’s spending a Saturday building for Habitat for Humanity; gathering on a Tuesday to do Bible study; attending one of our alternate services; joining us on a Tuesday for Pub Theology; attending a class or workshop; or volunteering at the Mt. Kisco Food Pantry. Browse the website and check out all the possibilities for involvement at BPC. You don’t have to “belong” to participate in any of our programs. In fact, if you want to participate, you do belong!
