Americares / Homefront

A one-day community-based home repair blitz that helps homeowners who are financially and often physically incapable of maintaining their homes to keep them warm, safe and dry. From community referrals, Homefront selects the homes to be repaired. Teams of volunteers work in conjunction with Homefront to ensure that the improvements and repairs are most meaningful.

What Our Church Does: Financial support; thirty to fifty volunteers form a team, including a house captain, assistant house captain and volunteer coordinator.

What You Can Do:
  • Help with home repairs, such as interior and exterior cleanup, carpentry, plumbing, painting, plastering, drywall, roofing. You do not need to be skilled as you will receive ample instruction and learn as you work.
  • Volunteer for a leadership role.
When: Homefront Day, the first Saturday in May

Volunteers: Adult, HS
